This shipment contains the replacement Steri - Trac® sensors for your ChemDAQ sterilant gas monitoring system and the instructions for properly installing them. Time Sensitive PLEASE INSTALL YOUR SENSORS PROMPTLY - on the day or the day after receiving them. The sensors are on internal battery power with limited shelf life. As per the terms of the Sensor Exchange Program (SXP ® ), please return your old sensors to ChemDAQ within 10 business days. (15 business days for international customers.) C M - 102 - A - 4.0 6 Installing Your Steri - Trac ® Sensor 2 Please review these reminders before proceeding:  If the sensors were shipped in VERY HOT OR VERY COLD CONDITIONS , allow them to reach ROOM TEMPERATURE before installing. If needed, let the sensors sit overnight.  Please RETURN your old sensors to ChemDAQ AS SOON AS POSSIBLE using the enclosed shipping label. (Some international customers are responsible for arranging the return shipment of the sensors. Refer to the terms in your SXP contract.) Call Technical Services at (800) 245 - 3310 x310 or ( 412) 787 - 0202 x310 Important information regarding your ChemDAQ ® Monitoring System : Dear Valued Customer, ChemDAQ strives to provide the highest quality in our products. We know customers rely on the accuracy of our sensor technologies to provide safe working conditions for their employees. Therefore, to help insure a high level of accuracy, we have implemented a time - out feature in all of our sensors when the calibration period (including a grace period) has expired. As a reminder, included in your Sensor Calibration Exchange Program (SXP) service, a ChemDAQ representative will contact you prior to each sensor exchange, typically at 4 - month intervals (depending upon gas type). Once acknowledgement has been received, your pre - calibrated sensor or sensors will be shipped. When you receive your shipment, please return your used sensors ASAP in the same shipping container. A pre - paid, return label will accompany each shipment.

C M - 102 - A - 4.0 6 Installing Your Steri - Trac ® Sensor 3 Installing Your Steri - Trac ® Sensor Step 1: Choose which sensor you want to change first, and note its area number on the ChemDAQ display. More recent versions of the software allow you to change multiple sensors at a time. (The sensors must a ll be located in the SAME ZONE. ) Step 2: At the DAQ computer, press the button on the touch screen display (or click with mouse) and enter your passcode. At prompt “Logging will be disabled...” press OK. Step 3: In the blue Set - Up Screen look for the ‘Sensor Replacement Area’ located on the ri ght hand side. Follow the steps below in column 3A OR 3B depending on your software version. Step 4: The software will now return to the main screen. After a few seconds the area square(s) you have chosen will enter ‘Sensor Replacement Mode:’ The square will turn gray and display SENSOR REPL. If the ChemDAQ computer is a part of your system, please follow the instructions below. Otherwise, you may skip to Step 5 on page 5 . Step 3A 1. Tap or click the white square (A above) until you see the number of the area where you want to change the sensor. (In the example above, Area 1 has been selected.) 2. Press (or click) the red START SENSOR REPLACEMENT (B) button. Step 3B 1. Select the area numbers of the locations where you want to change the sensors. In the example above (C), areas 1 and 2 have been chosen. 2. Press (or click) the red START SENSOR REPLACEMENT (D) button. A B C D

5. C M - 102 - A - 4.0 6 Installing Your Steri - Trac ® Sensor 5 Menu button Step 8: Perform the Zero - Adjust Procedure . The zero - adjust procedure sets the sensor’s baseline to correct for ambient variations in the environment. Perform the zero - adjust function even if the sensor is reading 0.0 ppm. Perform t he zero - adjust only when you are confident there is no target gas present. For example: Do NOT perform zero adjust while sterilizers are in operation. Wait at least TWO MINUTES after the sensor is installed before performing the ZERO - ADJUST procedure below. How to Perform the Zero - Adjust Function . Read the following instructions procedure before attempting : 1. Press and hold the menu button until you see MENU on the main display. Then release the button. 2. Press and hold the button until you see ZERO* displayed then release the button. 3. With ZERO* displayed, press the button once and RELEASE. *CAIR for O 2 (Oxygen) sensors. Note: If you make a mistake while performing the instructions below, just release the menu button. After several seconds the monitor will return to its main display. While it is zero - adjusting , the monitor will flash Z0.0. After a few seconds, the monitor will display in sequence the low alarm setting , high alarm setting , the horn volume , then it will display Z0.0 in GREEN. The monitor will then return to the main display and show 0.0ppm (or 20 .9% for O2) (If the zero - adjust was NOT successful, please contact your ChemDAQ technician for assistance: 800 - 245 - 3310 x310) Step 9: Return DAQ Computer to Normal Operating Mode (if applicable). At the DAQ computer enter the SET - UP screen. Press the gray END SENSOR REPLACEMENT button. The computer will return to the main display and after a few seconds the area will return back to its green color. (The area square may read . This is normal.) If you have other sensors to replace, return to STEP 1 on p.3 to continue. Step 10: Promptly return expired sensors to ChemDAQ using the enclosed shipping label . Intrinsically safe sensor ( C) Standard Area Monitors Squeeze Release Tab (D) Remote Sensor Mounts Sensor Mount Step 5: If your shipment contains multiple sensor - types, you can identify gas type by the sensor’s ring color (A). Ring Color Gas Type Orange Ethylene Oxide (EtO) Light Blue Hydrogen Peroxide (H 2 O 2 ) Brown Peracetic Acid (PAA) Light Green Ozone (O 3 ) Red LEL (Lower Explosive Limit) Dark Green Oxygen (O 2 ) Intrinsically Safe sensors are identified by their metal tag (B) and should only replace other intrinsically safe sensors. Step 6 : Removing the Old Sensor: For standard area monitors (C), squeeze the release tab and gently pull the sensor from the monitor. For remote sensor mounts (D), simply hold onto the mount and remove the sensor as shown. Step 7: Connect the new sensor to the monitor or remote sensor mount . For area monitors (C), squeeze the release tab first. If you fi nd the sensor module is difficult to connect, try aligning the ridges in the sensor module with the grooves on the monitor/remote sensor mount. Troubleshooting / Error Codes  If gas monitor goes into ALARM , remove sensor and call ChemDAQ for assistance.  Monitor displays READ . This is normal. If “Read” does not clear after 30 seconds, remove sensor and reconnect.  Error code   0001 : [Sensor Mismatch] Verify you have connected the correct sensor type to the gas monitor. (See Step 5 above.)  Error code   0003 [Over - range] Remove sensor. Call ChemDAQ for assistance.  Technical Service: (800) 245 - 3310 x310 or (412) 787 - 0202 x310
