This backup is a safeguard against data - loss should the hard drive in the PC fail. In some instances when the ChemDAQ Monitoring Software was installed on the ChemDAQ PC, the auto - backup feature was not activated. Note: Even if the auto backup feature has been turned OFF , a complete copy of your data is still b eing stored on your hard drive. No data has been lost . Procedure Summary : This procedure will guide you through verifying whether you software is configured for auto - backup. If it is not, instructions are included to reconfigure the software. For Tech Help: Call 1 - 800 - 245 - 3310 x310 Procedure Step One : Shutdown the ChemDAQ So ftware 1. Press or click the button on the ChemDAQ display. 2. Enter your passcode. When the prompt appears “Logging will be disabled...,” press OK. 3. Once in the blue SET - UP screen, press or click the button. 4. When prompted “Are you sure...?” press/click YES. T he ChemDAQ software will now shut down. This Procedure Will Take About Minutes For Single Zone Systems

Click on the Windows START menu and select COMPUTER or MY COMPUTER. 2. In the Computer/My Computer Window, open the (C:)Drive Icon (‘a’ below) . Then, in the C:Drive window, open the Windows folder (‘b’ below) 3. In the Windows folder, open the Chem DAQ .ini file (‘c’ below) . 4. In the ChemDAQ.ini text file, look at the entry “AutoBackup.” a. If the AutoBackup is set to 1 (as shown above), then the software is properly configured.
