Logistics & Support Technician

Pittsburgh, PA

ChemDAQ, Inc., a rapidly-growing manufacturing company based in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking a Logistics & Support Technician to serve as a member of the company’s Production & Technical Services Department. This opportunity comes at an exciting time for the prospective candidate, as long-term growth potential is available. 

Responsibilities

  • Manage the shipment, receipt and retrieval of all ChemDAQ products, materials and supplies for both domestic and international orders.

  • Collaborate and communicate with customers and third-party vendors.

  • Track and update the Production team with the status of incoming and outgoing shipments. 

  • Promptly process deliveries and stock receivables.

  • Maintain an accurate log sheet of inventory, product packaging materials and supplies.  

  • Engage all third party vendors and customers with a positive, customer-first attitude. 

  • Ability to be cross-trained in other areas of the Production & Technical Services Department to provide support, when needed, including customer and/or tech support calls. 

  • Demonstrate exemplary customer service by placing phone calls to customers to coordinate shipping arrangements and collect ChemDAQ equipment. 

  • Serve as a support lead for ChemDAQ’s sensor exchange program (SXP), packing and shipping ChemDAQ sensors on a regular basis and working alongside customers to get old sensors returned. 

  • Ability to collaborate with other departments to verify the status of customer accounts, adjust point of contact changes and make updated shipping arrangements, as needed. 

Knowledge & Skills Required

  • A minimum one year skilled work experience in a similar industry

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent 

  • Basic computer skills, including data entry

  • Knowledge of Google Sheets and/or Microsoft Access (preferred) 

  • Comfortable working independently and in a team environment

  • Customer service and/or tech support experience (preferred)

  • Familiarity with 49 CRF guidelines, freight carriers and domestic/international shipping regulations (preferred) 

  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
