With increased focus on our environment and the rising cost of HFC and CFC carrier gases, many medical device manufacturers are considering a movement to using 100% ethylene oxide for sterilizing instruments. Presence of 100% ethylene oxide on premise poses a risk of flammability and thus requires a hazardous classification be assigned to certain areas within the facility. To eliminate the potential of igniting the flammable gas, equipment used in these classified areas must be intrinsically safe.
ChemDAQ’s Steri-Trac® toxic gas monitoring system has an intrinsically safe version which allows manufacturers to recognize all the benefits of our employee safety monitoring system in areas classified as Class 1, Division 1, Zone 0. Customized to meet the specific needs of each facility, Area monitors, in conjunction with Remote Display Repeaters and ChemDAQ’s DAQ™ Central Monitoring System continuously Gather, Analyze, Report and Display exposure values in all areas where ethylene oxide is used or stored.
